Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) Certification is not necessary to sell and serve alcohol in the state of Texas. However, the program is offered, and many businesses require their employees to complete the certification program prior to starting work at the establishment. The commission monitors and certifies these courses, which are all led by private institutions and providers, and does not actually conduct the courses themselves. There are a variety of classes held in technical colleges and learning centers, as well as plenty of online TABC programs that are monitored and certified as acceptable by the state of Texas.
