Mallorca gives forth rich and tasty vegetables, like aubergines, potatoes and tomatoes, thanks to the island’s favourable climate and its rich soil. More than 1000 hectares of land on Mallorca are planted with a variety of different tomatoes. Tomates de ‘Ramallet’ are especially rich in pulp and can be kept for long periods of time hanging in a kitchen, ready for use on a ‘pa amb oli’.
