Who doesn’t love a luau??? Throw a little pig on the grill! Add some pineapple and other fresh fruit – now you’re cooking! Let’s take a little pretend trip to the islands and sail away on a party fit for a rock and roll king! Anybody seen Elvis lately???? Everybody knows that a luau is fun, colorful, tropical – anything but ordinary. A great way to enjoy time with your couples friends, single friends, or family.
A luau is excitment waiting to unfold. Get creative with the luau party
invitations. Send a flower hair comb for the ladies you invite and a flower wrist bracelet for the men. Tell the guests that they must wear the enclosed gifts somewhere on their bodies when they attend the party. Also tell them to wear ugly Hawaiian shirts, floral mu-mus or sun dresses, or for the daring party attendee – a grass skirt and bikini top.
Pre-made invitations are easy to find at the card store, Wal-Mart, or some drug stores. You can choose to make your own invitations with construction paper, or card stock and a simple computer program. For a more elaborate party, you can special order invitations. Make sure you allow enough time. You can even make this an annual event for your closest friends to celebrate a birthday, a promotion, a graduation, or even a “school is starting back” celebration for parents!
Decorations of tiki lights, inflatable parrots and palm trees and white Christmas lights will light up your entry way and let guests know that this is going to be a luau to remember. Party City and Party Warehouse have tons of luau paper plates, napkins, table
cloths, banners, and centerpieces.
Why not serve finger foods? Attendees love them and they are hassle-free for you. Ham sandwiches, pineapple-strawberry-kiwi fruit kabobs, chips, veggie trays and fondue are all yummy ideas. Decide ahead of time if this is an all adult party, or if it will be kid-friendly. Celebrate indoors or out. Have a great time
with friends and do the limbo, Mon!
