When people buy seafood products at the local supermarket, they often forget to read the label and check precisely what they are buying and where it comes from; likewise, when people buy seafood at their local seafood store, they often forget to ask the person behind the counter where this or that seafood item originally comes from. Nonetheless, there is a moral obligation on behalf of the average consumer to support sustainable seafood initiatives and try to buy as much of their seafood intake from such sustainable sources as the Alaskan fisheries. Furthermore, there is an obligation on behalf of every parent to provide the healthiest and least contaminated food (whether seafood, other meats, vegetables, anything at all really) possible to their children, in order to assure their proper development and growth.
