Whiskey might just be my favourite alcoholic drink. Whiskey has a reputation for being an old-man’s drink. After a few pints of beer, whiskey can be a welcomed change in drink. Whiskey is complex and varied. Whisky’s a great gift option. There’s something about whiskey tumblers too that make drinking whiskey even cooler. There’s nothing cooler than drinking a glass of scotch on the rocks.
There are many types of whiskey on the market. Near the top of the price scale is Longmorn 25 year old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky at £750. This is superb flavour concentration with the distillery’s trademark grapefruit, boiled sweets and a hint of smoke. This product was bottled for the distillery’s centenary and presented to staff and dignitaries only. At the lower end of the market is Tesco Value whisky for £9.20, the general rule is if it tastes horrible mix with coke, enjoy!
Want to hear something incredibly interesting? There are all types of whiskey glasses. Told you it was interesting. Okay if you really want to know I’ll tell you. But first I should tell you that the glass you use should depend on how you like to drink your whiskey. What’s certain is that you and your high quality whiskey deserve a glass that showcases it traits. There are two glasses which stand-out in particular. The whiskey tumbler is probably the most common one of the lot. An attractive set of tumblers will compliment yourdinnerware and your kitchen accessories. There are also tulip-shaped glasses that are kind of like upside-down champagne glasses.
Whiskey has become the drink of choice for maverick movie characters. For example, according to the Guinness Book of Records, the tenth most famous film quote ever was “Gimme a whiskey, ginger ale on the side. And don’t be stingy, baby,” from Anna Christie 1930. The character’s sexist remark (which it shouldn’t be) and he is promptly served with a tumbler glass filled with whiskey.
