There are a number of counter arguments against those put forward by vegetarians who are telling you that not eating meat is better for you. In fact there are plenty of good reasons why you should eat meat and here are just some of them.
- It is a part of our culture to eat meat; our species have been eating meat since its origin. And if it weren’t for the fact that we do eat meat, it would be unlikely that humans would have survived this long.
- We need protein to survive and meat is a great natural source of protein. Protein is used by our bodies to build cells and to provide us with energy; it is also used for a number of other essential elements of human life.
- Our blood is kept healthy by the inclusion of iron in our diets and one great source of iron is meat. A lack of iron in the diet will give you a really pale complexion and this is something that is quite often seen with many vegetarians. Most meat eaters don’t have to think much about iron because they are getting enough in their diet already. For vegetarians however, it is much more of an issue and it is even worse for vegans.
- B Vitamins are important for proper mental functioning and a lack of it can lead to mental illness such as depression. The body will get plenty of B vitamins from meat.
- Meat contains Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) which has been shown to help people fight certain types of cancer.
- Meat also contains Stearic acid which may be useful because it can lower cholesterol levels.
So there you have just a few of the many benefits of meat. So the next time you are faced with a vegetarian on the warpath, you will have a few reasons to argue with them.
In the modern world, more and more people are interested innutritional information. It is not only this though as a lot of these individuals would also like to find out as much as they can about things like healthy eating recipes or even red meat.
