Go Retro With A Fruit Basket Gift

Some people  are natural  gift givers. They have an innate  power to buy  the perfect gift no matter what the  event   is or who will be the recipient. Other  people   struggle with the  idea   of gift giving by putting it off until the last  minute then  rushing   to purchase  the first  item   they can put their hands  on. Quite often these gifts turn out to be disasters . But there is one fun  gift that can always seem to   work for any individual and that’s the fruit basket. That might seem like a old time  option   for a gift but it’s really a healthy , energizing and mouth-watering way to show you care. plainly put, you just can’t go wrong with a fruit basket.

Thanks to the many  choices   on-line, you can find  a way to  design   your own fruit basket gift. An extremely  popular choice is to go  all citrus with a mixture  of orange and grapefruit varieties . One of the  highlights   of this type of fruit basket is that citrus fruits have a long shelf life. You can keep  them right in the basket  or  stored in the fridge and they’ll be ready to  enjoy   for several  days and even up to a week after getting  them. Although other fruits like strawberries  and papaya  can add some special sweetness to a fruit basket, they’ll have to be eaten  immediately   but the citrus fruit can stick  around for a  little while  .

As you  arrange   your fruit basket you can stick  with basic  combination   of Florida oranges and grapefruits. For  people  living outside of the sunshine state, getting a batch  of Florida oranges can be a real treat. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The navel orange is one of the seedless  types   and has   plenty of bursting flavor. Temple oranges are a variety of citrus known for their oval shape. These are the ones  with seeds. For a sweeter tasting orange you can go smaller   by  choosing   the tangerines or clementines.

On the grapefruit side you can add in pink, white or ruby red. Most people enjoy  cutting   a grapefruit in half and serving it up for breakfast but they also make a tart snackfor any time of the day and can be peeled and eaten  just like an orange. If you want to add a more exotic flavor  to the fruit basket you can consider slipping  in some a mandarin or honeybell. Mandarin oranges are the sweetest of the line. The honeybell is actually an orange crossbred  that combines  the flavors  of a grapefruit and a tangerine. For anyone who hasn’t tested  a honeybell, one taste and they’re sure to be  addicted !

A fruit basket might seem  like an impersonal choice for a gift but what you’re really giving  is a healthy dose of vitamins wrapped  in some sweet tasting fruit. So, what’s a better option  for a gift? Something that might be stuffed  into a closet and forgotten about or something that can be enjoyed over  and again — as long as the fruit lasts. The only way to improve on a retro  fruit basket is if you grow the fruit yourself!
