Recently I read an article about popcorn machines that are powered by tweets that mention people eating popcorn. Basically the machine monitors feeds and produces a piece of popcorn every time somebody states something like “Eating popcorn and watching Iron Man – What a good day”. The contraption will probably not be an item that would have a lot of market value, but it is a great example of people’s love affair with tasty popcorn.
Modern advancements have given everyone living in America, the chance to buy their very own popcorn maker. No, I’m not talking about the microwave oven. Microwaves are not popcorn machines and should not be viewed as such.
Popcorn machines are much easier to make these days. The modern assembly line combined with our economies unique ability to purchase raw materials from all over the world have dramatically brought the price of popcorn machines down to one that everybody can consider. People do not have to purchase a theater or a carnival to own or operate a commercial popcorn popper.
Another way technology has made owning a popcorn machine easier is through the use of the World Wide Web. Finding a popcorn machine for sale is faster and more convenient online. You can find brand new machines through a whole slew of online vendors. Used machines can also be found online through classified advertisements and auction sites such as Ebay.
Popcorn makers purchased in an online store are always more reasonably priced than the ones you can purchase at brick and mortar stores. Businesses that operate online do not have as many costs as businesses that operate locally and can therefore share the price cut with their customers. Customers that could not previously afford popcorn machines can now use them right in their home.
Also the Internet has made receiving popcorn machines much easier. Traditionally a person would have to have a truck or van to pick up a large machine. Otherwise a customer would need to pay the price for a moving company to deliver their machine. Purchasing a machine through the Internet will usually end with the customer getting the machine delivered to their house. Many companies will even throw in free delivery. Who doesn’t want to be able to shop right from the comfort of their own home?
Thanks for reading this article on technology and popcorn machines. Do you know any other innovative ways people are popping their popcorn?
