Birmingham now has so many clubs that sometimes it can seem like too much hassle to decide which one to go to at the weekend. Occasionally it’s nice just to sit down with a pint or cocktail with a group of friends and enjoy each others’ conversation without having to shout over banging music. I have started relocating my weekend entertainment from clubs to bars and pubs instead.

Cakes normally combine some kind of flour, a sweetening agent which is commonly sugar, a binding agent that is generally eggs, though gluten or starch are often used by vegetarians and vegans. Fats which consist usually of butter, shortening, or margarine, although a fruit puree such as applesauce is sometimes substituted to avoid using fat, a liquid, though many cakes lack these ingredients and instead rely on air bubbles in the dough to expand and cause the cake to rise.

Except for the high end establishments, just about every type of restaurant these days has some form of customer self-service buffet or salad bar serving ready-to-eat foods. Even El Pollo Loco and other Mexican style restaurants allow you to pick and fill up from a choice of salsas. Asian style all-you-can-eat restaurants are another big one with many popping up in most big cities.

I can hear you now, what is this guy banging on about? I came here to learn about budget recipes, and here he is trying to teach me how to be being hygienic. Oh but I am not, what I do want to do though, is remind you how important it is to keep the kitchen clean, and in doing this keeping you healthy.
